Dear Parents and Carers
We have had a busy week this week with lots of students in and out of the school for various individual Eisteddfod performances. Yesterday, our school choir performed two songs at the Lower Clarence Eisteddfod and were awarded First place. Congratulations to the students, Miss Dawson and Mrs Commerford on a fantastic achievement. The choir will be performing their Eisteddfod songs at the conclusion of the awards assemblies next Wednesday 28th June.
Next week is our final week for Term 3, with students finishing on Thursday 29th June. Therefore we will be holding our final Awards Assembly for Term 3 on Wednesday 28th June, in the school hall (9am ES1- S1 & 9:30am S2- S3). All are welcome to join us.
Student report cards will be available to parents next Monday 26th June, via the COMPASS app.
Next Thursday we have a group of 36 students attending the Zone Athletics Carnival in Coffs Harbour to compete in various events. We wish them all the best!
Today our Stage 3 students hosted their weekly radio show at TLF 93.5FM 11am- 12pm. We had a visitor, Karen Evans from the Catholic Schools Office, on tour with us today to write a news article about our partnership with the local radio station and how we connect the students’ learning from the classroom to the real world. See our presenters below!
We wish you a wonderful, restful weekend and look forward to seeing you next week.

Winter Appeal
As we enter the cooler months, we wish to support people in need. This year our St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal will provide immediate assistance to women and families within our community who are at risk of experiencing homelessness and in need of warm clothing and bedding. In support of this appeal we will be collecting any warm clothing or blankets. Our Stage 3 Mission leaders have been visiting our classrooms this week to give a brief talk about Mini Vinnies. A donation box will be placed in the front office for anyone who wishes to contribute.
Thank you for your support.

ES1 News
Where has this semester gone?! I cannot believe we are halfway through Kindy! We are getting excited for our 100th day of school, which we will celebrate early next term. In English, we have learnt lots of sight/high-frequency words, and have been so brave at having a go at sounding out unknown words in our writing tasks. We are currently reading the book ‘Chip’, and have been learning about adjectives, verbs, characters and perspectives. In Maths, we have learnt how to identify 2D shapes based on their features and that halves mean splitting something into two equal parts. We were so excited to have Father Nicolas visit our room two weeks ago, and we impressed him with our knowledge of Catholic symbols and how we could recall learnt Bible stories. The Tinkering Area has been very popular during investigations; the students are currently taking apart an old printer to see all the bits and bobs inside, which has them fascinated! If you have any old/broken appliances that are headed to the bin, we would love to take them off your hands!
