Dear Parents and Carers
It makes me nervous to see the calendar above for our school in 2025!
We have not finished 2024- give me a break!! No just kidding, now is the time we look towards the future and the directions we are heading.
Welcome back to 2024 Term 4.
Someone told me that we have 43 days of learning left in the year. Our goal is to make all of these count for your children. Are we going to be still pen to paper on day 43? I think not, but we do see celebrating success and achievement, as well as building community, as part of the learning and we hope you will join us for these events.
On Monday we spent the day looking at the values that Saint James School has developed along with our learning mantras and the diocesan Foundation Values document. The diocesan goal is for "All to experience the fullness of life." We in turn have six learning mantras which work towards the community responding to this. These line our Big Top wall.
We will have further information for parents to engage in this agenda.
The day was wonderful and the product is looking good.
All our staff and children are back on deck and into the learning and while we feel like we never left.
Please do not be strangers in this term of lots of busy and please contact the school if you need anything.

Bike Days - Cancelled
Bike Week has been cancelled for 2024, as we now have swimming and surfing on these weeks. We think it is a bit much for families at this time and with the other organisation needed.
We will try to look at late Term 1 2025 to keep this fun week on the agenda.
SOCKTOBER -Save the Date
“SOCKTOBER” CRAZY SOCK DAY- Wednesday 30th October
Students can wear crazy socks on Wednesday 30th Oct and are asked to bring a gold coin donation to support the work of Catholic Mission. This year, Catholic Mission will be raising awareness and funds for the Caring Center in Mongolia. We focus on the Head, Heart, Hands framework to help students think deeply about why they are participating and raising funds for missionary works.
Thank you for your generous support.
Changes in medication or diagnosis
If your child has a change in medication or a new diagnosis could you please remember to make an appointment to speak with staff or provide the executive with the new information. We need to track all changes and record all medications in COMPASS as part of our care and student safety responsibilities.
Thank you in advance.
Webinar - Breaking Point
Justin Coulson presents "Breaking Point - Unpacking the crisis in youth mental health."
The NSW Council of Catholic School Parents is again providing an opportunity for all Catholic school parents to register to attend this free webinar. If you missed out last term, please register to learn more about how you as a parent can understand what is happening in regard to youth mental health issues and how to support your young person to thrive. Register via this flyer.
