Dear Parents and Carers
This week we were very lucky to have Kirra Pendergast in our school with Safe On Social. This is a great input to parents and was particularly timely with the new scoial media laws in the parliament at the moment. We have had interactions with Kirra 3 times now and always learnt something new. Thank you to our Community Conversations group who put their Parent Assembly Grant towards this.
Do you have a kindy (ES1) student for 2026? Now is the time to get online and enrol. We nearly have one class already and are in discussions for the growth of the school into the future. Please help us with accurate data.
Have a lovely weekend
Ann

St Vincent De Paul Christmas Appeal
We are collecting food items for the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.
Some families in our community are unable to buy special treats to share with their loved ones at Christmas time and rely on Christmas food hampers from St Vincent de Paul. We are asking for any donations of non-perishable food items to help make Christmas Hampers (see below).
Christmas treats for the hampers include: long life custard, long life milk, plum pudding, blocks of chocolate, Christmas cake, bags of lollies, soft drink, cans of beetroot, pineapple, corn, peas or fruit, packets of jelly, popcorn, chips, nuts, corn chips, salsa, Milo, fruit mince pies, icy poles in plastic, biscuits or anything else you might enjoy at Christmas.
We will also be collecting gift cards for our ‘Giving Tree’ on the ‘A Little Bit of Fun for Christmas’ evening, later this term. These will also be distributed by St Vincent De Paul to people in need of support over the holiday season.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity.

Congratulations to our finalists!

Stage 1 News
English
Stage One students have enjoyed exploring two amazing texts - ‘The Boy Who Tried to Shrink His Name’ by S. Parappukkaran and ‘Hark it’s Me Ruby Lee’ by L. Shanahan. We have been focusing on character traits and building up a rich vocabulary as we go. Check out some of our first sentences in our recent assessment task….
Fletcher: Ruby Lee is a courageous, kind and valiant girl. She is also adventurous and confident.
Tippi: Ruby Lee is a courageous, kind, fun-loving girl, who has an imagination as big as a blue whale.
Christopher: Ruby Lee is an ingenious girl. She is a helpful friend and has a lot of imagination.
Aria: Ruby Lee is a thoughtful, confident and intrepid Primary School girl.
Ruby: Ruby Lee is a little girl with a loving heart. She has an exquisite imagination.
Maths
Recently in Maths we were learning about measurement. One of our challenges was to make a container out of lego or blocks that holds exactly 50 paper clips. We had some time to estimate and then the building began.
There were a variety of shapes and sizes created and there were extremely accurate containers built. Check out our efforts!
In Other News…
We have loved our swimming lessons this term and have developed some vital skills for summer. In the classroom our Investigation Spaces are always developing and changing with the students' interests. We have a new class ‘Florist’ where we research, design and sell arrangements of different flora. There have been lots of exciting orders and deliveries to other classrooms! We are enjoying learning about sound in Science and Technology, so we have designed an area where we can explore, create and record the sounds we make! Stop by and visit our classroom soon.
Radio
Tune into TLCFM 93.5 on Fridays from 11am to listen to Stage 3 on the Radio.
