Dear Parents and Carers
This week the Pastoral care team travelled to Murwillumbah to look at best practice in the provision of wellbeing with a whole school focus. Over the coming weeks you will be invited to give your feedback on our new processes (we saw some great models and this will guide our staff work in the coming weeks).
In line with our focus on service we visited South Murwillumbah St Joseph's school who were another school impacted by last year's floods. We left ice cream for the children and morning tea for staff on our school's behalf.
Early next week you will be invited to book interviews with your stage teams. We are just waiting for CSO support to check our availability slots. We will open from Tuesday and teachers are ready to discuss learning and wellbeing with you. We are committed to ensuring that all families are captured in this process. If you need any assistance with bookings on COMPASS please let Ann know.
Have a great weekend
Ann

We are very lucky to be hosting the Lismore Proclaim Band, Wildfire at our school on 1st and 2nd March.
Ten:Ten is a high-energy experience focused on enabling students to achieve the fullness of life. Inspired by the words of Jesus in the Gospel of John, “I came so that they may have life, life to the full” (John 10:10), this experience is an opportunity for students to celebrate life
with their peers and hear the relevance of the Gospel from a team of faithful youth ministers. Each of the Ten:Ten sessions are an invitation for students to encounter Jesus through music, talks, interactive activities and prayer.
This experience is facilitated by the Ten:Ten Team. This includes the Proclaim Lismore Wildfire Worship Team, well-known for their original new worship music, and local Youth Ministry Officers.
Next Wednesday we celebrate Ash Wednesday and the first day of the season of Lent. We know that Lent is a special time to prepare ourselves for Easter. By thinking about our lives and making changes with God’s help, we can become better people.
On Ash Wednesday Christians receive a cross of ashes on their foreheads. God’s people have used this powerful sign for hundreds of years. The cross of ashes tells friends and neighbours that we know we are not perfect. We sometimes break the law of God. We hurt other people. We act selfishly. On Ash Wednesday we tell God and each other that we are sorry and we want to be more like Jesus. We will be having a short liturgy in our school hall at 10am to distribute the ashes to the students and staff. You are more than welcome to join us.

Stage 2 News
Stage 2 students have been busy getting themselves organised and settled into their learning for the new year. We spent some time in the first week of school getting to know each other and learning about everyone's interests and things that they like to do both at school and away from school. The students created an artwork (see below) showcasing their individuality and what their hopes and dreams are for the years ahead.
