Dear Parents and Carers
We hope you and yours have had as much fun this week as we have had in Catholic Schools Week. I am going home for an early night tonight as it has been huge!
It was great to have so many families join us for the Community Conversation on Monday evening. Led by Janita Thomson from the Catholic Schools Office we have another meeting on Tuesday May 30th at 5:30pm. This is an evolving agenda and we will place an input in next week’s newsletter to share the details of the evening.
On Tuesday, the Out and About in the Community excursions and lunch at the lighthouse was wonderful. Thank you to all the families who joined us for anything from Story time to a bush walk and lunch. Such diverse ways to spend time in the community once more.
Wednesday saw the well-attended Liturgy and open classrooms focusing on "Living Our Mission". Thanks to all those who attended and the staff and students who lead the liturgy.
Today's Mother’s Day breakfast was a fabulous start to a great day and it was so nice to catch up with everyone. These events work because of the efforts of all staff and the support of the whole community.
Thank you one and all.
Today Stage 3 visited the Emu Farm and met Yaegl elders at the lighthouse to learn about how we can work with our environment to manage it sustainably. Keep an eye on Instagram this weekend for the highlight reel. It was such a wonderful day out in the community.
Next week I am out in Coffs Harbour with Mrs Dougherty and Mrs Ferguson working on our school's response to the diocesan initiative the "Learning Collaborative". We have been part of this evolving agenda since last June and are working towards a rich and deep embedded use of data to inform learning.
Once again HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to all our families and I hope the day is fantastic.
Ann

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK 2023
What a wonderful week we have had celebrating Catholic Schools Week as a school community. We have posted lots of photos on our school Instagram page of all of our events this week. Check them out!
This year’s theme “Living our Mission’’ highlighted the mission of Catholic schools in the Diocese of Lismore. The Catholic school community has a co-responsibility in the service of mission through sharing Jesus’ messages of love and forgiveness, peace, hope and joy as revealed in the Gospels. The transforming power of mission ensures our students experience the fullness of life (John 10:10).
We are immensely proud of the important role the Catholic school has alongside our Bishop, Parish Priest, school staff, parishioners and families in the missionary activity of bringing the ‘Good News' to the world. This week provides us with the opportunity to showcase and celebrate the missionary activities of our Catholic schools as well as the quality education we offer.
Many thanks to the families who joined with us for one or more events this week. We love having you with us to celebrate these special occasions.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our wonderful school.

Assistant Principal- Mission

Yamba's Historical Adventure!
Our students had an absolute blast exploring Yamba's rich history! We started our tour at the Yamba Museum’s Yaegl Garden and observed the Yaegl totems, the dolphin and the dingo. We also looked at the language poles that depict the story of the Dirrangan - how the Clarence River was formed by an old spirit woman. We then explored the Yamba Historical Walk. We're thrilled to have provided them with such a memorable adventure, creating a deeper connection to their local community. History has never been this much fun!
